Dr. Chinedu Ugonma Asogwa is a dynamic academic and sustainability-focused accounting professional with over five years of experience spanning higher education, financial administration, and corporate reporting research. She currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, where she contributes to teaching, research, and academic leadership.

Her scholarly work centers on corporate reporting regulations, sustainability accounting, and financial transparency within African economies, particularly in the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). She holds a PhD in Accounting from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, an MSc in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, and a BSc in Accounting (Second Class Upper Division) from the same institution.

Dr. Asogwa is a published author in high-impact journals and Springer-edited volumes, with research contributions addressing sustainability reporting, IFRS adoption, and economic development in Africa. She has presented at international conferences across Tanzania and Nigeria, and is actively involved in editorial and peer review roles for journals such as the Journal of Global Accounting and the International Review of Financial Studies.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria, the Association of Cybersecurity Practitioners, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. She also holds certifications in cybersecurity, epidemiological study design, and grant proposal writing.

Beyond academia, Dr. Asogwa is an Associate Consultant with the International Network for Corporate Social Responsibility, one of the foremost non-governmental organisations working on the promotion of Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility in Africa. She is also deeply committed to community services, youth mentorship, and faith-based leadership. She has served in various volunteer capacities, including children’s ministry leadership, election monitoring, and catechism instruction.

Dr. Asogwa is a recipient of multiple awards, including the Professor Emeritus Peter Akinsola Okebukola Project Prize for Best Grant-Winning Proposal and recognition from the Central Bank of Nigeria for entrepreneurial excellence.

Her skill set spans research, public speaking, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) analytics, and e-accounting, complemented by strong emotional intelligence, integrity, and collaborative leadership. She currently lives with her husband and children.
